The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is the highest level of qualification for IQA professionals, and ultimately for those wanting to take on a leadership role, for those IQA professionals who already hold the L4 Award in IQA.

This Certificate is for professionals who are, or want to be, a Lead Internal Quality Assurer (Lead IQA) or a Quality Manager. In the process of this qualification, learners will gain the skills to not only sample decisions made by IQAs, but also to carry out planning, allocating and monitoring a team of IQAs and assessors, effectively run the whole quality assurance function, and facilitate continuous improvement across an organisation/training centre.

Upon completion you will be able to lead the quality assurance procedure of assessments in line with national standards.

Entry Requirements
  • You should be at least 19 years old and possess a satisfactory level of literacy and numeracy (equivalent to Level 2).
  • Must have access to at least 2 assessors at workplace to fulfil he practical requirements of this course.
  • Prior experience as an assessor (such as the Level 3 CAVA) is helpful but not mandatory.
Progression Opportunities

After this Level 4 Certificate in Leading IQA process, you can apply for positions such as Lead IQA, Quality Manager, Quality Nominee, or Assessment Manager where they oversee all quality assurance, manage IQA teams, and strategically plan assessment standards across an organisation.

You can progress to the Level 4 Award/Certificate in External Quality Assurance (EQA), which qualifies you to work as an External Quality Assurer for an Awarding Organisation, auditing multiple training centres.
